About Episode The World's Longest Kill | Sniper Craig Harrison I sat down with Craig Harrison, the British Army sniper best known for holding the world record for the longest confirmed sniper kill at a staggering distance of 2,475 meters (2,707 yd) (1.54 miles). Craig opens up about his military career, the historic shot that made global headlines, the realities of combat, and the psychological toll of being a sniper in high-stakes environments. You can buy Craig's book here: https://amzn.to/3nkAQwH Craig’s Maverick Survival School: https://www.themavericksurvivalschool.co.uk/ Craigs Instagram https://instagram.com/cohcraigharrison (@cohcraigharrison) Craig is a former Corporal of Horse in the British Army's Household Cavalry and served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Beyond his elite marksmanship, he’s also an author and mental health advocate, sharing the untold realities of life as a sniper through his memoir "The Longest Kill." About the Guest: Craig Harrison, born in November 1974, is a retired Corporal of Horse from the Blues and Royals, part of the British Army’s prestigious Household Cavalry. He is best known for achieving what was, at the time, the longest confirmed sniper kill in combat history—a staggering 2,475 meters (2,707 yards). During a 2009 mission in Afghanistan, Harrison used a L115A3 Long Range Rifle to eliminate two Taliban machine gunners near Musa Qala in Helmand Province. After taking several ranging shots with his spotter, he delivered two consecutive hits—each a fatal shot at extreme range. The feat was later confirmed by an Apache helicopter using a laser rangefinder, validating the remarkable distance. This man landed three consecutive shots on three separate targets—from a range farther than anyone in history has ever achieved with an infantry rifle. He shattered the previous record, held by legendary Canadian sniper Rob Furlong, surpassing it by 50 yards—about half the length of a football field. Harrison’s military career spanned multiple combat zones, including Iraq, the Balkans, and Afghanistan, where he developed a reputation for precision shooting under pressure. Today, Craig speaks openly about his experiences in and out of uniform, including the mental health challenges faced by combat veterans, and continues to advocate for awareness and support through writing and public speaking.
