The Rerouted podcast was originally intended to follow the journey of Mandy Bates, a two-year rectal cancer survivor from symptoms to surgery and her new life with a permanent colostomy. Diagnosed at the age of 49, Mandy chose to forego chemotherapy against her doctor's wishes, but did receive radiation and life altering surgery in February of 2018. With the help of a nutritional coach and a naturopathic doctor, she got her mind and body as healthy as possible before having her internal plumbing rerouted.
